Accessibility Testing Results

This is an easy way of adding pictures, text and audio whether music or a narrative to make a presentation. The editor and player are only usable with a keyboard in certain browsers such as Internet Explorer and even then drag and drop is required to move slides. Menus have very small text in editor mode. Labelling and layout are not ideal for screen readers although it linearises in WebbIE. Text size can be zoomed on the main site and colour contrast levels are good.

# Test Score Summary
Login, Signup and Other Forms Accessible Poor There are no labels for forms within this product - this may create problems with some screenreaders.
Image ALT Attributes Good It is possible to add images to a slide show but not with an alt attribute. However a text description can be added later to the slide although this will not be screen reader accessible when in a show.
Link Target Definitions Excellent All links, including images which would otherwise be ambiguous, have titles to uniquely identify them.
Frame Titles and Layout Excellent No frames or iframes, which can be disorientating for screen-readers, are used in the design.
Removal of Stylesheet Excellent The page is still understandable and functional when it is viewed as a linear document, with no styles.
Audio/Video Features Fair Text can be added to slides and shows have titles and tags but these are not screen reader accessible when shown. Captions can only be added if they are already in a video.
Video/animations - audio descriptions Good Audio descriptions can be added as video streams within the slides. Text descriptions may be in place but are unlikely to be accessible when the slide show is presented.
Appropriate use of Tables Fair Data tables are used to present information about multimedia, but these do not have headings. This may create problems for some screenreaders.
Tab Orderings Correct and Logical Good Tab ordering is usually logical but not all parts of the site have an expected order.
Page Functionality with Keyboard Poor This site uses a Flash component to show presentations - this is not accessible to keyboard users in some browsers.
Accessibility of Text Editors Poor The text editor is keyboard accessible but not easy to reach when using a screen reader.
Appropriate Feedback with Forms Good The site usually offers suitable feedback.
Contrast and Colour Check Good No contrast issues.
Page Integrity when Zooming Excellent The website maintains the layout and usability of all critical areas perfectly when zoomed.
Text size, style, blinking elements and Readability Good The majority of text on the site is size ten, which is readable but may be uncomfortable for some.
