Description

Annotate a map with three kinds of tools- a waypoint (one that can be used in multiple maps), a note, or a path/route. The flow of the story is less apparent, unless one does it with a combination of routes to show a path. It is possible to share ones map and also explore other peoples' maps.

Accessibility Testing Results

Clearly not all the elements have alt tags and the maps are those powered by Google with similar mouse over text and size control. Added features cannot be read by a screenreader. The main links are accessible but the maps cannot be manipulated by keyboard only. Text sizes can be small but zoom is good.

# Test Score Summary

4Frame Titles and Layout Excellent No frames or iframes, which can be disorientating for screen-readers, are used in the design.
5Removal of Stylesheet Poor The map does not work without its associated stylesheet.
6Audio/Video Features Fair It is possible to add a short description to the points on the map.
7Video/animations - audio descriptions Fair There is no chance to add audio descriptions but text can be added.
8Appropriate use of Tables Poor Tables are used to construct this site - this may cause some screenreaders to read the content in the wrong order in this case the choice of maps and not the content in the maps.
9Tab Orderings Correct and Logical Good Tab order appears to be logical and makes access possible by keyboard users. However, tables are used for layout so some ordering may not be the way one would wish to work.
10Page Functionality with Keyboard Poor This product requires a drag-and-drop operation with a pointing device to pan around the map.
11Accessibility of Text Editors Good There is no rich text editor in this product.
12Appropriate Feedback with Forms Good Feedback is poor when the user attempts to log in with incorrect details - especially if they make two invalid attempts.

15Text size, style, blinking elements and Readability Good The majority of text on the site is size ten, which is readable but may be uncomfortable for some.
