Accessibility Testing Results

The main elements of the Picboard service are accessible but it would be hard for those who are blind to work with the images or symbols. Some aspects are not keyboard accessible and there are differences in the way the various browsers react with this service.

# Test Score Summary
Login, Signup and Other Forms Accessible Excellent Forms well labelled.
Image ALT Attributes Good Toolbar icons and chart images have no alt text, but floating tooltips and manually-added cell captions can be read by screen reader. No way to add alt text to user-uploaded images.
Link Target Definitions Excellent All links well-defined, though no alternative navigation.
Frame Titles and Layout Excellent No frames used.
Removal of Stylesheet Poor Site unusable without stylesheet - can neither select cells nor drag images into them.
Audio/Video Features Excellent No audio or video features.
Video/animations - audio descriptions Excellent No video or animation features.
Appropriate use of Tables Excellent No tables used.
Tab Orderings Correct and Logical Poor No logic to tab ordering. Takes ages to tab to dialog boxes. All browsers except Chrome have the ability to tab to elements other than input fields and buttons switched off; there is no way to turn this on in either Opera or Firefox.
Page Functionality with Keyboard Poor System unusable without keyboard. No keyboard alternative to drag-and-drop. Cannot select cells or tools without keyboard.
Accessibility of Text Editors Excellent No rich text editors used.
Appropriate Feedback with Forms Excellent Form feedback good. No time limits after form submissions.
Contrast and Colour Check Excellent Text comfortable and easy to read. Contrast acceptable.
Page Integrity when Zooming Good Works perfectly with all browser zoom functions except Chrome's and Safari's, which add scrollbars to the chart images rather than resizing them correctly.
Text size, style, blinking elements and Readability Excellent Very readable - no serif fonts, decent font size and good layout.
