Accessibility Testing Results

In general the accessibility of the website is good. However, this site really depends on the style sheet (css) being in use as well as javascript, without them it is hard work navigating at speed.

# Test Score Summary
Login, Signup and Other Forms Accessible Good It is necessary to have a Windows Live ID or to register via Windows Live. There are simple, accessible forms with clear labels but a Captcha is used at the end. Screen reader can use the audio version but it is not easy to understand. Keyboard access is good.
Image ALT Attributes Excellent The majority of icons and service images have acceptable alternative text, but there are some advertisements using Flash that are not accessible. Images loaded by users are dependent on their ability to add suitable tags.
Link Target Definitions Good Most descriptive links are appropriately used throughout the site although when viewed in the Webbie text browser it is easy to see some have less helpful titles such as 'more' or the repetition of 'post a note' to people which when seen in isolation by a screen reader package needs the person's name nearby.
Frame Titles and Layout Excellent No frames or iframes used for design.
Removal of Stylesheet Fair The site can be use without stylesheets but it is really hard work with the content as the pages are long and certain items such as the calendar do not linearise well.
Audio/Video Features Excellent The actual Skydrive section of the service, as a network hard disk, only stores files for you to share and download. The service does allow for the display of photos but not audio and video so this test is not really applicable.
Video/animations - audio descriptions Excellent As a network hard disk, it only storage files for you share and download. It can display photos but not audio and video so this test is not really applicable.
Appropriate use of Tables Fair Some data tables have been used without headers and these cause problems for screen reader users.
Tab Orderings Correct and Logical Good Tab order when using the keyboard is generally good.
Page Functionality with Keyboard Good Keyboard functionality is good other than for reaching Flash based advertisements.
Accessibility of Text Editors Excellent The text editors are easy to use as they are mainly plain text forms.
Appropriate Feedback with Forms Excellent Appropriate feedback, user directed to what they should do next, no time restrictions.
Contrast and Colour Check Excellent Site contrast is generally good and responds well to desktop setting changes or browser setting options.
Page Integrity when Zooming Excellent Layout and readability unaffected when zooming.
Text size, style, blinking elements and Readability Excellent Sans-serif fonts used in all body content (excludes headings). Regular font size (10/12pt) throughout and reasonable layout.
