Description
yEd is a diagram tool that allows you to make schema for databases, generate ideas and plans. It "makes full use of the yFiles library. This is a Java class library enabling the viewing, editing, optimizing, drawing, and animating of a wide range of diagrams, networks, and other graph-like structures.
yEd has been built using 100% lightweight Swing components. This allows it to run on any platform where a suitable Runtime Environment is available."
Accessibility Testing Results
This program may be used as an option for mind mapping or concept mapping if the user likes to see not only the overview of their diagram and the detail bit also the text list in one window. It not as pretty as many mind mapping programs but it has many other technical features that may suit those studying science. It is relatively easy to use and the files are small and export in several formats.

The menus all have short cut keys and it is possible to use the Windows sticky keys, toggle keys and mouse keys. Magnification works but it is not possible to use contrast mode without an error dialog box appearing when used in Windows. No audio errors appear with this program. |
