Description
This is a site for publishing documents in many well known formats that are then presented in iPaper format. Security settings allow users to choose whether they wish to have their papers seen by everyone or just members or only themselves. Due to the success of the service the text to speech audio recordings of documents to mp3 had to be closed down. However, it is possible to upload audio with the documents along with pictures and comments. There is a blog and community and it is possible to use the system to publish documents to personal websites.
Accessibility Testing Results
It is possible to use this service with a text browser such as WebbIE although some forms and links from the iPaper editor do not remain in the same position they would be found in the graphical mode. Downloading documents makes those that are in txt format readable in a text browser. It is a shame alt tags cannot be added to pictures or audio loaded with a transcription if it is different from the uploaded document. Text to speech programs can be used with documents that allow for text to be highlighted in iPaper, such as a MS Word doc. Zooming works within iPaper and for the whole site. Colour contrast levels for the site are good.
